400g mixed fruit
125 butter
1 cup raw sugar
1 Tbs golden syrup
1 cup water
1 egg
1 cup wholemeal flour
1 cup white flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cups chopped walnuts
Line 20cm tin with 2 layers wax paper. Put fruit, butter, raw sugar, syrup & water in large pan. Bring to boil stirring. Simmer 2 mins. Remove from heat & let get cold. Stir in egg. Mix well. Stir in walnuts. Sift in flours, baking powder & salt, mix well. Spread in tin. Bake 160 degC 1-1/4 hours. Cover tin with foil & leave until cold.
