3 oz butter
1 cup coconut
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp cream of tartar
2 tsp top milk or cream
1 egg
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
Cream butter & sugar, add egg & beat well. Sift flour & cream of tartar & add to mixture with coconut. Dissolve baking soda in milk & add to mixture. Spread in flat tin & bake moderate oven 20 minutes. Ice while hot.
